Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

I have 2 DUI's. The first a result of a domestic dispute with my ex-husband. The car was mine & someone needed to go so it was me. One of the many reasons I am divorced. The second I received after being asked to leave a memorial function for my fianc. A mistake I admit but at the time wasn't thinking about that. There is more detail regarding my case, however, at this time I have completed everything the courts have asked of me, which I did in 4 months. I can not be placed on non reporting probation until 6 months. But I am being told that I will still, after all this, have to have an inner lock system in my car for another whole year when I am able to apply to receive my license back. I lost my full time job because of this. I still have my part time job. I am struggling to get a job and having one of those things in my car will still make it difficult. I have an out pouring of people who are willing to write letters as to my character and I still continue to attend counseling on my own for grief purposes and of course depression from not being able to find a job. Is there anything I can do to convince the state to give me a license back with out an inner lock devise in my car so I can move on with my life and get a job? Is there anyone who knows they can win this for me? I feel enough is enough and I don't want to go on welfare I just want to work. Thank you

The hearing officer CAN grant a full license without an interlock. However, it is unlikely that will happen. Most likely, the hearing officer will require an interlock for a year. You can appeal that decision to the Circuit Court. However, the judge is unlikely to overturn the hearing officer.

That isn't what you want to hear- but it is the truth.

Including your reason for why the interlock device would keep you from moving on with your life (MOWYL) would be helpful since no judge would hear your case without it. MOWYL is a feeling not a reason.
