Re: 19 year old with an mip

You need to hire a lawyer to negotiate a plea bargain with the prosecutor to ensure that any plea you enter is put under the Youthful Trainee Act or under advisement so that it does not stay on your "permanent record." You qualify because of your age and no priors. This is not something you want following you around forever - you wanted it to be sealed like it never happened.

Thanks.

You should absolutely NOT plead guilty straight up. This will be on your permanent criminal record. I can assist you with representation. I have an office in Troy as well. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz

An MIP charge is a misdemeanor and can stay on your record for life. This is not the time to go it alone. An attorney can negotiate with the prosecutor that can keep your record clean and save you a lot of money in the long run. If you need help give me a call.
