Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

minor in possesssion michigan

I was walking home with my friends and we had been drinking. The cops pulled over because we were out passed curfew. He saw that we were intoxicated and gave us a PBT. I blew a 1.8, I'm 16 years old, and this happened in Walled Lake. It is my first offense. What should I expect to get because of this concerning community service, probation, etc.?

it is extremely important to hire an attorney for this matter. You would be best served to try and keep this off your record. Contact me at www.kliszlaw.com for free phone advice. Tim Klisz

Since you're a juvenile, your parents will soon receive a notice to appear with you at the Juvenile Division of the Oakland Probate Court.

Juvenile records are sealed and not available to the public. An attorney could assist you in getting on the consent calendar which will result in your record being destroyed when you reach 18 - otherwise, it's kept until age 29.

Your BAC level of .18 is quite high for a 16 year old. (If it actually was 1.8, you'd be dead.) Things could get complicated if the court orders a psychological exam because of the high level - leading to unnecessary therapy. A lawyer could assist you in avoiding this.
