Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

My ex is not on the birth certificate and also refuses to admit the child is his, he spends VERY little time with him and

doesn't pay for anything. I want to file for child support but i am scared of getting in.troubl . Because we were 15 and 16 when i got pregnant.

The legal age of consent in Michigan is 16. There is no easy answer to a question like this. If you want him declared to be the legal father so he can be legally obligated to contribute to the welfare of his child, I guess you have to ask yourself is risking a serious criminal charge for either or both of you a chance you are willing to take to get court-ordered child support. Having the name on the birth certificate is legally irrelevant in Michigan. Did he sign an Affidavit of Parentage?
