Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

my son is in Iraq and his wife filed for divorce He is worried about all his belongings that they have is a storage unit in N. Carolina as she is living in Michigan while he has been overseas. What can we do about her not getting into that unit until he gets home (APRIL)?Is there a legal way of protecting his belongings. His father has is legal power of attorney, can he do anything? Thank you his mom Bonnie

Yes. Using the power of attorney,arrange by phone or in person with the storage company to place thr belongings into a unit in your name or simply retieve them.

If his wife filed for divorce in Michigan an attorney would be able to ask the judge for a court order to prevent that wife from getting into the storeage unit. If your son is in the military, there are additional Federal laws that will help him. Contact an experienced family law attorney to represent your son.
