I gave temporary custody of my child to my mother. but know she refuses to give me my baby back what can i do?

was the temporary custody done through a court? what was the language of the order? if it wasn't for a specific period of time, i.e., you were serving overseas, then you need to go through the court, and perhaps needs to if there is nothing in writing and cannot get your child back. I'm assuming something was in writing, otherwise her failure to return your child is considered kidnapping, since you have revoked your express permission for her to have custody of your child (same thing with a babysitter).
