Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

If you were granted a divorce in Michigan and got full physical custody of the minor child and subsequently moved to North Carolina (with the minor child and with court approval and approval of the non-custodial parent), do the laws concerning child abandonment and termination of parental rights change from Michigan to North Carolina laws automatically or do you have to file something with the court to change jurisdiction?

The Michigan court has jurisdiction. There are other issues such as sole legal custody that will affect a termination of parental rights petition. The issues are too complicated to discuss via this forum. Feel free to contact me for more information.
