Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

im 17 and my boyfriend is 19 and we want to get married! but there is one problem my mom. she doesnt really anything i do. i want to be with my boyfriend and get married to live with me and everything. i would jsut move in with him but mom would trun him in for haveing sex with a minor and i dont want anyhting to happen. plus even if we werent haveing sex mom would still turn him in. what can i do with out anyone getting in trouble?

I believe you may marry in Michigan if you have the consent of at least one parent. Perhaps you can obtain the consent of your father to marry. In the absence of the consent of your father, you may be able to marry legally in another state without parental consent. I am unsure of the marriage requirements of other states. The reason that there is a minimum age requirement (18 y/o) in Michigan is because the decision to marry is a very serious decision and should not be made lightly.
