Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

2 years ago I did work for an older lady. She passed away 1 month ago. Now her former room mate called today, he said the floor in the laundry room is shifted and he wants to sue me if I don't fix it. The room mate WAS NOT on the contract for the work, was not on the check that was signed by the homeowner, or on the deed for the home. Should I be worried? I feel like he doesn't have a legal leg to stand on since he wasn't part of the contract for the work to begin with.

The primary issue is whether the work was performed properly, and whether you warranted the work. If the shift was not caused by your work and your work does not violate any warranty or your contract, then you are not legally liable.

From the description you provide, it does not appear the roommate can sue you for the work on the contract. The lady's estate could, however, sue you for any liability you may have. The roommate would not file that lawsuit unless he is appointed as executor of her estate and files the lawsuit on her behalf.
