Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Michigan

okay, I bought a car about 5 months ago. I had a 3 month warrenty on it. when my car started to distrubute problems(enginge light came on) i took it to the dealership. I was not aware that they were turning off my engine light. when i figured that out(after 3 times) i told them i needed them to fix the problem not just turn off that light. so they said okay, but buy that time i was 60 miles over my warrenty and now they wont fix my car and i need a totally new engine. If they would have never turned of my engine light and just delt with the problem it would have been covered. now they want me to come up wit 1300 to get my car back, which is for the labor of the tear down of my engine. i just want my car back. they have had my car sence april 12th 2010.

Firstly, this is not a legal ethics issue. It is a consumer issue.

Secondly, you did not include your zip code.It makes a difference. Lawyers from all over the state are part of this service. The lawyers you need may not pay attention to the question because you labeled it wrong. And, it helps us to know where this happened to you. Some dealerships are 'repeat offenders'. It helps us when we know in what part of the state these problems are occurring.
