Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Michigan

Transmitted an STD to my son because I didnt have a c-section delivery...

I recently discovered that I transmitted an STD to my son through vaginal birth. He has genital warts. I was notified that I had this when I was pregnant. However was not offered a c-section birth. My sons dermitologist told me that if I had a c-section he would not have gotten this STD. Can I file a malpractice lawsuit for this? My son is now 4 years old and has to have these ''warts'' burned off and there is no guarantee that they will not return. This is completely traumatizing to me as now my son will have to live his life with this disease that could have been prevented with a c-section birth. I was told that it is the doctors responsibility to do or recommend a c-section if I have a vaginally transmittable disease.
