Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

assultive injury

I got my head beat in while in a county jail cell by a bi-polar 17 yr-old kid. The cops saw it all on tape but did nothing until it was over. I went to the hospital and released from the hospital. I now have permanent eye damage (documented) and will never see right again. Can I sue?

You absolutely can sue. The police cannot stand by and do nothing until the beating is over. The laws of qualified immunity should not save the police in such a situation. If we can obtain a copy of the tape proving the beating that would be a good start.
