Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

October 16th a State police officer came to my house & gave me misdemeanor"ticket"/ with court apperace date for a PDA that supposedly happened on Sept.19th.I was not at the location at the time the incident supposedly happened, however I was there earlier that day,and I honestly dont believe i hit anyones car. Neither my son or i felt a thing, which I'm sure we should have if I actually had hit someone. I have a court date October 30,and have not been able to see copy of inciodent because it was filed under freedom of info act. Do I need to get an attorney?
