Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

How do I disolve a contract with my realestate agent who I feel is not doing the job I had hoped they would do, as far as finding me a house? I have recently found a more (spirited agent) and feel he is more apt to find what I am looking for. not that my current agents are (bad) so to speak but I feel they are not as aggresive as I want in finding homes to look at. Thanks

You should be able to terminate the agreement. If your real estate agent won't do it, talk with his/her broker, explain the reasons, and they will generally let you out. You will have a continuing obligation to pay a commission if the property is sold to someone who looked at the house through the first agent. Usually the agreement calls for a 6-month commission protection period. Any questions, call 586.751.0779 or MichiganEstatePlans.com for contact information. Good luck.
