Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

When my mother was still alive, her and my dad sat me down and told me that they are leaving the house fully paid. My mother died of breast cancer and now my dad changed his mind and not leaving me the house but in fact wanting to sell it. He claims my mom left no will (doubtful since my mom was meticulous when it come to legal documents) and even if she did, he will challenge it. Now my dad want to sell the house and told me to find another place to leave. Was the oral contract of leaving me the house legally binding? Do I have any legal recourse to keep the house?

No you don't. There is no contract because you didn't give up anything to get the promised benefit. They are likely joint owners on the house and it's now solely your dads. You have the same rights as any tenant. 30 day notice to quit and then eviction if he is going to sell the property right away.
