Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Property Law

My wife bought 10 acres with three others under an original joint tenancy contract with right of survivorship. One of the others sold their interest to the other three using a quit claim deed. Of the three owners, one just died. Does the original joint tenancy contract hold (since my wife never signed the quit claim deed)? My wife's claim is that it is now owned by the two remaining survivor's. Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Property Law

The answer depends on what language was used and whether the intention was for the grant to be with rights of survivorship when the "other" owner sold their interest to the other three using a quit claim deed.
