Remove name on house deed

I need to remove ex's name from deed? She is in full agreement to just sign a document. should I use a warranty deed or a quit claim deed? are both effective? then do i file it with the livingston county clerk office?

Typically, a quit claim deed is used. The deed is filed with the register of deeds in the county where the property is located.
