signed lease on a house

they want to keep my money plus pay them 900.00 more and i signed it a wee and ahalf before i was to move in and called them to back out in 1 business day can they do this

As a general rule in most cases once a contract is signed there is no period during which you may call back and cancel. The two most common times are the 3 day right if you have refinanced your home and the right if you have been solicited at your home and signed a purchase in your home. Based on your facts it does not appear you can back out, but we don't know what the lease says about terms. You may wish to contact an attorney to protect your rights.
