Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Wrongful foreclosure

I left my husband, he didn't make the mortgage pmts. The company wanted to foreclose unless I came up with the arrearages. I did. Then they refused the payments. They started forclosure. Then admitted that there was a ''terrible mix up'', and said the payments should have been accepted and they would stop the foreclosure, while I waited for them to review my ''hardship'' package, which I don't feel I needed to file, as they had all the monies at one point. I found a forclosure notice on my house today. Nothing has been stopped even though they were in the wrong and know it. Do I have any recourse here? My name is being dragged in the dirt all over the place because of thier error. Help!

Re: Wrongful foreclosure

I think that there's quite a bit of information missing from your inquiry which would be required to give you a competent answer. You should meet with an attorney to discuss the details of how events transpired and to review the paper trail.

You may contact me directly if you wish. However, if I am not at least somewhat local you should contact a creditor's attorney in your area.
