Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Michigan

Hello, I am a 17 year old male and I am texting my 15 year old female friend. We live in different states (I in Michigan and she in Oregon). We have been texting each other for ~4 months; and we both really like roll playing... so we rp going for walks, driving endlessly, and nothing bad. She recently said " *kisses you on the lips* " and I, not thinking anything of it, said " *kisses back*." Neither of us sext. If I am correct, and please say if I'm not, sexting is sending any nude/lude pictures. No nude/lude pictures have been sent.

-Question: can we continue to text each other with the idea that both of us like each other, But Are Not Having Sex... Or Sending Naked Pics?

Thank you for reading, I look forward to your reply.

All it takes is her mother discovering your online relationship and coming to her own conclusions about a Michigan adult communicating with her child about topics related to sex. (Under Michigan law, you are an adult for criminal purposes at 17). She then contacts her local police and they contact yours.

You are risking your future by potentially placing strangers in the position of judging you - some of whom may conclude that you are criminally involved with this child. If I were your father, I'd tell you to stop it immediately. The risk is too great.
