Improper Lane Use

I Was Given A Ticket For Improper Lane Use. The Officer Said I Used The Left Turn Lane As A Travel Lane.I Intended To, And Did Turn Left At The Light.There Was Heavy Traffic In The Thru Lane. I Assume He Believes I Got Into The Left Turn Lane Too Early. Looking Foward To Your Response. Thank You

You can't get into the left turn lane until the yellow line turns white. It's frustrating because the left travel lane sometimes is backed up a long way from the intersection and its tempting to go up to the intersecton in the turn lane.

Ask for a formal hearing and you may get a break if you have a clean record.
