Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan

first offence traffic misdemeanor

I was in an accident without auto insurance, and now I am being charged with a misdemeanor for driving without insurance. I already had a arreignment, and my sentencing is in a few weeks. I may have to pay restitution, but I was wondering since this is my first offence and I have nevver been in trouble before, what my likely sentence will be (in michigan), I really hope I do not get jail time.

If you just had an arraignment, unless you pleaded guilty, your next appearance should be a pretrial and maybe sentencing if the court does that. Although you face jail time, an attorney may be able to work with the prosecutor and negotiate a reduced charge so you do not end up with a criminal record. If you need help contact my office.
