Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My Biological Father has recently passed away. I was adopted by my birth mothets spouse. My birth father and and I reconciled when I was 19. We have had a wonderful relationship for 27 years. He asked me to be the Executor of his estate, and told me of his wishes when he passed many, many times. As far as we know, he did not leave a will. His estate is in Michigan, but he also owns property in Phoenix. My adoption took place in Oklahoma. Do I have a legal right to inherit from my birth father without a will being discovered?

Having a will would have been perfect, but there may still be a slim chance. Please contact me at (313)402-0853 to discuss further. Thanks, Tim
