Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Need your help. Father passed away 2 days ago. He's been married almost two years. Me and my sister are the only two blood relatives/descendants left. No aunts or uncles. My dad was the last living sibling. I have found unclaimed property in both my grandmother and fathers name. Grandmother died in 2006 and we are unsure if a will was in place but my father did not receive anything from grandmother's estate. Who would be the rightful heirs to his property? Who would be the rightful heir to my grandmother's property seeing that there are no children of hers living, just grandchildren? Should I contact probate court?

I need more information. It is possible that your grandmother's assets pass to your Dad and then to you and your sibling, but it depends on a number of variables, including if either had a will. Please call me at 586-580-8850 or e-mail me at [email protected]
