Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Only Heir

my dad recently died and i have one sibling besides myself.. my dad lived in michigan and i live in Texas. i have only had one sibling fo r a short amount of time (this person was well over the legal age when they came into our lives - as a ''former girlfriends kid'' and my father never denied this individual his attention, nor did he deny them.. now this person has taken it upon themself to write me off // how can she just leave me out and claim to be the ''only heir''???? How can this be legal???

It sure doesn't sound right, but you'd need a Michigan probate attorney to sort things out. That's where the probate proceedings will take place.
