Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

How long can they hold our money?

My Uncle died in February, and we were informed of the will immediately. It is now Oct. and the bank who was put in charge of it says they don't know when we will get paid. They have to post it in the paper for 4 months..etc. All stocks...etc were liquidated and there is about 1 million dollars to be split among 29 named family members. We just want our settlement!! What is the law?

The four months is a period of time so that creditors can file claims. The bank knows what it is doing so just go along for the ride. William S. Stern
