Legal Question in Workers Comp in Michigan

work related injury doctors recheck

I received a 2 degree burn to the neck when another employee through a hot bar of steel in the reheat bin but hit me in the neck. I have to go to my companys doctor for follow ups, my employer said that I have to do this on my own time, I was curious since the way that the press area was set up and caused the burn, should the employer be paying me for the time that i have to see the doctor? everytime I go it's atleat 1hour visit. I have gone 5 times already and their doctor is 17 miles from where I live.

thanks for your time,

Re: work related injury doctors recheck

You are entitled to mileage. Unfortunately, as long as the doctor is available off hours, you're probably stuck going after work. Bill Stern
