credit card liability

My wife has a credit card in her name only and it recently charged off without my knowledge. As her husband, can I be held liable for the debt and could it affect my credit rating?

If the card was not used for "necessities" then under Minnesota law you would not be automatically liable for the debt.

It is possible that creditors could try to seize some jointly owned assets once the creditor has a judgment.
