Animal Cruelty

Everything I have read about animal cruelty talks about what happens to people who torcher their animals or sit there and watch them starve to death for no reason, what about someone who straight out kills an animal to protect their child, what happens to them?

Your question is a complicated one. Certainly, in the event of defense of another or a defense of self, reasonable force may be used. What constitutes reasonable force would depend on the particular circumstances of the case.
