Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

felony theft of 7000

i was charged with a felony theft of 7000. this is my first and last time i ever get in trouble. i have a public defender who never calls me back. they said that i took the 7000 not at once but a little over time. i dont know whats going to happen to me. I'm really scared. can someone help me.
