Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

I have a find who was recently in jail for assault & terroristic threats. But assault was drop just to the threats because norhing was found. His bond was 30,000 the only thing they holding him for was having a picture of a weapon in his phone around the time it was reported. Now made bond & he has a public defender representing him which told him while he was on jail to plead gulity and time served. He's going to plead not because the copy of the report dispatched is inaccurate. I wonder if their is a way this can be dismissed ?

Yes, it's possible. Your friend should retain a lawyer to aggressively defend him in court. If he's not guilty of the crime, then perhaps he should not be pleading guilty at all. He should discuss options with his lawyer. Feel free to give me a call or email.
