Legal Question in DUI Law in Minnesota

first time DWI

My sister was arrested for DWI she was going to not get an attorney I may have finally talked her into getting one. is it worth it to still get an attorney even though her license was revoked and she has already gotten a 90 day permit to drive to work. Will this still effect her driving and insurance record even though she has not gone before the judge and been found guilty

DWI can be a complex area of law. It is both criminal and civil. Depending on whether it is the individual's first DWI it could become even more complex. Additionally, whether the person was driving their own vehicle and/or someone else's can also be a relevant consideration.

Your sister's license is only one factor. The criminal portion of the incident will also have to be dealt with.

I would be happy to discuss the situation with you and/or your sister in some detail. Feel free to call or me at my office.

Re: first time DWI

I get two questions over and over again concerning DWIs. The first one is: Why do I need a lawyer? The second one is: How long before this is off my record?

The second question usually comes from people who thought they didn't need a lawyer.

Take a look at http://www.mn-dwi.com.
