Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

My dad is marrying a woman in July, and she is also divorced, her and her kids recently went to court with their biological father for custody of them, even though the court was told the past details about the abuse of him, they ruled that the kids should go with their dad. When they really shouldn't. There was a lady who came to our house and made up a bunch of lies about my soon to be step mom and her kids. Her youngest daughter came to me and asked what would happen if she just didn't leave Minnesota and go to Texas with her dad. What could happen ?

I am afraid that the parent could be held in contempt if they did not ensure that the child followed the Court's order. Children do not get to make that decision. The case and its history would have to be reviewed to determine what might be the best process.
