is there any recourse to recovering from a term policy that was cancelled due to a band account being closed, when policy holder was in nursing home

Thank you for your question. More information is required to provide an answer. I presume you mean that a term policy required by a divorce decree was cancelled because the bank account from which the payments were made was closed.

If that is the case, there is no recourse against the insurance company. If the person who's life was insured has died, a claim could be made against his or her estate, based on an obligation imposed in a divorce decree. But there is no way to "revive" an insurance policy that has been cancelled or terminated due to nonpayment.
