In 2008 I voted accidentally, I was under the impression that my charge was reduced to a gross misdemeanor immediately not until after my five year probation. Now a criminal investigator wants to speak to me.

You are potentially looking at being charged with a felony. "Any individual who votes who knowingly is not eligible to vote is guilty of a felony." Minn. Stat. s. 201.014. You should exercise you right to remain silent and to speak to an attorney. You may have defenses available to you depending on the facts. Please feel free to call me for an initial consultation.
