Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Minnesota

Fast Food Employee Assauted Me

A fast-food employee assualted me and my friend after telling us that the lobby was closed and we needed a car to get food. A stranger bought us food through the drive thru and as we were walking to where we were staying an african american male employee followed us about a block and told us that he said we could not have food then proceeded to physically assault me by punching me in the face and head and punching my friend in the jaw. He then ran back in and the lights were turned off. When the cops came the manager said the employees with her were all that were present but would not let the cops in. The cops said they could not do anything. Then we contacted the owner and he told us that noboby fitting our description of the man was working that night saying the only male was a hispanic male while we saw another african american male in uniform with the cops. Is there anything we can do legally without knowing the name of the employee?

Re: Fast Food Employee Assauted Me

Did the assault happen in Iowa or Minnesota? Are you living in Iowa or Minnesota? I need to know this because I am only licensed in Minnnesota and would not want to get too involved if I can't bring suit anyway. Thanks.
