Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

I'm trying to relocate to Minnesota and was wondering if my criminal record would affect me in the business administration, healthcare, and hr areas. I was charged with a misdemeanor to the 3rd degree in Pennsylvania for simple assault. This was the result of a domestic dispute. Will I find it difficult to get a job and will I be turned away from it? This happened 12 years ago. Please let me know.

The answer is 'it depends' on many factors. Several entities perform background checks. The job for which you are applying is a factor. I suggest you inquire of HR departments in the fields in which you have interest. Criminal expungement is sometimes a remedy of sorts. Tricia Dwyer Esq. ph 612-296-9666.
