Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

We live along a river in Minnesota. The neighborhood children like to cut through our yard to get to the river. I would prefer that they find a different access to the river but my husband seems to think we do not have the right to refuse access Part of my problem is I just prefer them not cutting through my yard. I'm also not sure if we would be held accountable if one of them were to get hurt Who's right
