Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

My aunt passed away recently and has my brother as executor of her estate. Her son and step son are telling my brother that he must liquidate any asset they dont want possession of and then give the proceeds to them. Is it his responsibility to sell her unwanted assets and provide the proceeds to the son and step son? These are items such as furniture, appliances, clothes. Her house was sold when she was hospitalized to help provide money for her care.

It is impossible to answer this question without reviewing the estate plan. Your brother, as the personal representative, should hire an attorney to represent the estate. The cost would be born by the estate, not your brother personally.
