Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

my father in law just passed away 2 weeks ago. a while ago he mentioned to my husband, his son, that he had left things to him in his will. my step mother in law says shes the executor of the will and never said my husband was left anything. she did hire an attorney to get her name on the house they shared. our question is will i get a notice if she or her attorney is contesting the will, also can i get a copy of the will? and will we get a notice if my father in law left his son any life insurance?

You probably will not get notice if your stepmother in law does not submit the will to the probate court. This is not to say you are not entitled to it; just that you may not get it. You may want to retain a lawyer to make sure your rights are protected.
