Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Mississippi

When someone files Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and list a debt owed to a physicians office, can we as the physician collect that debt from the patient before seeing her again?

Absolute Law You should talk to a local lawyer about health laws specific to your jurisdiction. It is not recommended that try to collect the debt that way against the bankruptcy.

If it's a non emergency patient you can demand upfront payment for any future services. You most probably can decline her as a patient as a credit risk, but I recommed that you consult with a local lawyer and review the medical ethics rules as your primary guidelines.
