Pre-indictment jail time

Is there a time limit someone can stay in jail until they are indicted?

Re: Pre-indictment jail time

It will really depend on what charges the person is facing. Usually, the judge will set bond, but as we all know Robert Blake sat in jail some time before he was indicted because he was viewed as a flight risk. Also, if you are out on bond on a felony and you get picked up for another felony, you can expect to sit.

Let me know if I can be of additional assistance.

an unindicted detainee is entitled to have reasonable bail/bond set. such should have been done, so you only need to make the bail/bond and the detainee can be released.
