Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

Child support

I was deemed the father of a child several years ago. and they court order me so much, far more than I pay for my 1st born child that I pushed it all to the side. I made $10/hr and pay $200 in KY and they ordered me after paternity was established in MS $400 or more monthly. I quitmy job as I had only $90 a week to live on. when I was paying MS. those years ago as they were garnishing my check. It shows in about 5-6 years that I owe 37, 000 and I don't know what to do. I don't want to go to jail but I have no clue how they can charge me so much more money that I cannot even survive. I want to pay, please help me.

Thank you

Re: Child support

I am guessing that you did not have a lawyer representing you when child support was assigned in either of those other cases. I suggest you do not make that same mistage a third time. You saved a few hundre dollars in attorney fees, but it cost you considerably more in the long run.

This is not the sort of situation a do-it-yourself approach can be recommended.
