Legal Question in Workers Comp in Mississippi

Was Terminated

I would of been at my work place 19 years untill a week ago. I WILL BE 55 YEARS old in july.I had surgery IN JULY 2003,on my vacation where I wouldn't miss any time from work. I went back with limitations,I couldn't sew,SO I WAS PLACED IN CUSTOMERS SERVICE, packing supplies and shipping orders, consesting of picking up 60 and 7olbs boxes to ship. The surgery was on my hands.I LOVED THE JOB. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO THEY CALLED ME IN THE OFFICE, and said they needed to cut back in that department, but not to worry that I would have A job. I was placed in the sewing dept.knowing I could not sew,but I thought I would give it a try. And I tried, my hands like to have killed me, plus they said I would have to do 100%, THEIR WAS NO WAY!!! MY DR. had told me my hands would not last till retirement. anyway I was called in the office and laid off. my insurance, retirement, life ins. is all gone.SURE I can draw unemployment, $210.00 A WEEK, I CAN'T LIVE ON THAT. My house is $500.00 a month.WORKMAN'S COMP is going to keep paying for my medicine for so longs, how long I don't know.I can't live on nothing, WHAT DO I Do?

Re: Was Terminated

Your question is one of employment law, not workers' compensation law. I would recommend that you resubmit your question and categorize it as an employment question so you can have a Mississippi employment attorney provide you with some guidance.
