Who's liable?

Bought a used car from an individual. Took it to get an oil change and it needs a torque readjustment and transmission fluid. Total of $350. Did I buy the car ''as is'' or is the seller liable for a period of time after the sale?

Good question! I don't have enough information in your question to answer you. Where do you live? Is the seller a business or individual? Was the car sold with a warranty, or as- is, and if the latter, was that disclosed? What were you told about the car before the purchase?
