Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Do I have to pay for my ex's debts if they were split in the divorce decree

My divorce was finalized in May, 2000. In the divorce decree, the bills were split. She has refused to pay for any of the bills. My name is on her half as well, therefore, the bill collectors are calling me for her payments. Am I required to pay these bills, even though they were her half in the divorce? What can I do to make her pay her part of the bills. Her non-payment of the bills has ruined my credit as well.

You can go back to court and move to cite her for contempt. This is a fairly easy process. The court can compel her to pay her half of the bills.
