Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Several years ago, I had a payday loan and then I lost my job so unfortunately the loan was never paid. It then went to court in 2003 where I was order to make payments. I made payments, then after a many months, I went to the payday loan company and told them that since the original loan was 300.00 what can I do to resolve this debt completely. He told me to pay $300 and then he contacted the law group to let them know that I resolve the debt in full. The Law firm then sent the court the information and I received a notice from the city of St. Louis courts stating that the loan was completely satisfied and paid in 2008. Now, without notice I have received a court garnishment from my employer in regards to this matter. How embarrassing. What can I do?

You need to file a motion to quash the garnsihment. ake the papers sohowing the debt had been satisfied, That should take care of it. If you are concerned about battling the attorney for the creditor in court, you might hire counsel to represent you, or at least to assist you in drafting your Motion to Quash.
