If you offer evidence to prove your innocence and the officers refuse, is the any benefit or down side?

Obviously, if the office refused to consider the evidence you want to show them, they're more likely to charge you with a crime. Most would consider that to be a down side. But, if your lawyer shows the prosecutor esculpatory evidence, that the arresting officer hadn't considered, they may be less likely to pursue thr case. Most would consider that good, or a benefit.
