Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

It was a rough day and my phone was thrown at a wall but it missed the wall and instead hit my fiances 2 year old daughter in the face this all happened 2 months prior to when it was reported my fiances mom reported me saying it was not an accident * i dont see why it matters so much now* and my fiance told child services that it was an accident they have no other way of contacting me other than through mail so i dont know what they are sending me . Am i in the red zone for getting criminal charges on this since there was no actually harm to her on purpose

The baby was perfectly fine and had no marks. I am 18 years old and a male and i have no prior offenses . Please help!

There is an investigation of all reports of suspected child abuse. Most cases end there. Since you say that you threw the phone on purpose, you can't say there was no purpose, in causing the injury. But, as you say, you did not intend to hit the child. Throwing the phone around small children could appear to be reckless behavior, endangering a child. If you are contacted, or your girlfriend is told not to have you around the child, you should consult directly an attorney in your area.
