Legal Question in DUI Law in Missouri

My fiance recieved a DWI in July of 2011. That november she became pregnant and in March 2012 my unborn daughter was diagnosed with spinabifida and my fiance was put on medical bed rest and unable to work. In july 2012 my daughter was born has had three surgerys, weekly doctor visits and more to meet her medical needs. Since giving birth my fiance was on bed rest multiple times, had three surgeries, one of which was a historectomy at age 22, and has been unable to work Due to her and my daughters medical condition she has been unable to work and pay for the satop class. Is there a way to get a hardship waiver or any way to not have to take the class?

The SATOP class is only required if wishing to amend a charge or get a license reinstated. She can plead guilty, and not seek to get her license back, and therefore, avoid the expense of the SATOP class. If someone needs for her to be able to legally drive, they might pay for the class for her. Otherwise, that other person might have to always be the one to take the baby to the doctor, etc. Your fiance can ask the Court to waive the SATOP fee for her, but many judges will deny the request.

Good luck
